Main Place, located in downtown Royal Oak, offers an ideal location to businesses seeking an urban clientele. The block-long, two-story, 50,000 square-foot development perfectly complements SkyLofts Royal Oak, the pioneer condo building in the city’s burgeoning loft-lifestyle.

Main Place was the first phase of Morningside’s mixed-use project spanning two city blocks in downtown Royal Oak. Completed in 2002, Main Place is anchored by a 30,000-square-foot Barnes & Noble bookstore.

Morningside came to Royal Oak with a vision and a plan that could respond to the ideas of city leaders and citizens. The development team and the city’s blue ribbon committee collaborated through a series of designs for the development, which the city approved in 2001.

In 2003, the Royal Oak Chamber of Commerce named Morningside President David Strosberg its businessperson of the year.
