After collaborating with the city of Royal Oak to build the successful SkyLofts Royal Oak residential and retail development, Morningside Group found a way to replace a community eyesore with a desirable loft building, perfectly situated on the edge of this traditional downtown.

Morningside bought and razed a small, transient motel on 11 Mile Road, ending years of neighborhood complaints and police visits. In its place they built SkyLofts MarketSquare, whose quiet location, two blocks away from Main Street, lets owners enjoy their generous terraces and balconies. Residents shop seasonally at Royal Oak’s farmers’ market, just across the street, and walk to the library, downtown restaurants and coffee shops.

The 88-loft residences feature the luxury finishes and features so typical of Morningside developments, including heated, indoor parking and a fully equipped fitness center. The position of the building on the site, its scale and landscaping gracefully blend with the surrounding neighborhood of single-family homes.
